I have one younger sister, Callie, who teaches 8th grade science and is married to Dr. Casey Hays. I graduated High School from Yantis ISD, where I attended my junior and senior year. In high school I participated in FFA, basketball, and other student organizations. I attended Texas A&M - Commerce and graduated in 2007 with a BS in Animal Science. At TAMU-Commerce I participated in livestock judging, and was 7th in the nation in 2005. After graduating with my BS degree I worked on my MS at Stephen F. Austin State University in conjunction with Texas A&M - College Station. I started veterinary school at Mississippi State University in August 2009 and will graduate in 2013. Since 2005, I have worked at Quitman Animal Clinic in Quitman, Texas as a Veterinary Technician. I currently have a small herd of about two dozen Beefmaster cattle that I am constantly trying to improve through selection and Artificial Insemination. I also have one dog, a lab puppy named Remington or “Remi”.
